During a foray to the local junkyard I spotted an old tank. I knew it was old because it was joined using large rivets rather than being welded at the seams. I had to have it. It was easy to figure out what to do with the ends. They were cut off; legs attached and became ever so durable fire bowls. The seams were incorporated into vessels. That pretty much used up all the rivets.  I had no idea what I was going to do with what was left over- the balance. Many months went by. The balance was becoming a nuisance. Finally an idea struck. I cut the body of the tank into strips, and then cut those strips into sections at set angles. I reattached the strips to form various twist and turns. This was attached to a base and the first Ribbon of Steel was created
